By By Royal Appointment! 7/2/2011 by As the country enters a new era of royal wedding fever, the news of William and Kate's engagement holds special meaning for jewellery designer Claudia Bradby. Claudia's husband Tom conducted the first interview with the couple and Claudia got to know the future princess whilst she was working at Junior Jigsaw. Kate loved Claudia's jewellery designs for women and suggested the two of them collaborated to create pieces for girls. The designs were a great success and to mark the engagement Claudia is re-issuing both pieces.
'It's such wonderful news. I'm so pleased for them both,' said Claudia. 'I was thrilled that Tom was doing the first interview, but told him not to muck it up. Fortunately, he didn't and the whole thing seemed very relaxed. I was always amazed to read some of things that were written about Kate. I primarily dealt with her through our working relationship and I found her utterly charming and really rather impressive; focused, creative, thoughtful and kind. The royal family is very lucky to have her.' Kate remains
a fan of Claudia's jewellery and is often spotted wearing pieces from her
collections. Claudia’s innate passion for pearls is apparent throughout her classic trans-seasonal and her seasonal trend collections. Each piece of jewellery is handmade using Claudia’s signature charms, semi-precious stones and freshwater pearls. Her design philosophy is to create pieces that will encourage women to build their jewellery wardrobe as thoughtfully and passionately as they would their clothes wardrobe.
