Modern Bridal Trends

The sky really is the limit for betrothed couples these days (yes, you can get married on a plane!). Less bound by tradition and with more choice than ever before, today’s bride is looking to express her and her husband-to-be’s personality throughout the special day. This is reflected in the choice of marriage venue, catering, entertainment and of course, the wedding gown and accessories. As a go-to brand for contemporary pearl jewellery, we’ve noticed some changing trends in a modern bride’s choice of accessories. Pearls are still enormously popular for their soft colours, flattering glow (especially important for the wedding photos) and romantic appearance. However brides are bypassing traditional trends; they don’t have to be white and modern shapes are more popular. The ability to wear the jewellery again is important and it serves as a lasting reminder of the day. With this in mind, here are our top jewellery choices for a modern-day bride…

Contemporary shapes: We weren’t surprised that our pretty new Star range was popular, but we hadn’t expected them to be such a hit with brides! We think that the combination of delicate design with a modern feel and in a choice of metal colours has made these a wedding day favourite. In this month’s issue of You & Your Wedding magazine, these versatile designs feature as suggestions for both bride and bridesmaids!

Wear again: Ear jackets are still a huge earring trend and our Duo earrings come in a selection of colour combinations and can also be worn without the jacket as a stud earring. This contemporary style adds the complimentary femininity of pearls without appearing fussy. Worn here with our Essential Pearl Necklace, this is a combination that will become everyday wardrobe staples.

Budget friendly: It is possible to enjoy the unmistakable look of real pearls on your special day without breaking the budget. Our Essential Pearl Drop Earrings, pictured above on gold, make the perfect finishing touch to an ornate dress paired with the Essential White Pearl Bracelet. Why not add some subtle colour with our Button pearl bracelets which now come in a choice of soft colourways. For the most on-trend way to wear pearls, pair with our short Button Pearl Chokers in soft pink or white.
